No no no nooooooo not again my reaction to an e-mail that I received in my inbox from one of my daughter’s school ….
That reads ……..,,
Check your child hair for lice like OMG!
I really dreaded such emails!
because it means I have to check all my three daughters hair.
Which is time consuming and I was told that “lice has a special thing for long hair” talk about lice being choosy as well!
So seeing that my girls are blessed with long hair .. I need not to go further with this conversation……
The last time I used the special lice comb in my daughters hair I was labeled a “hair torturer” by my oldest ……
Plus I have to contact other parents outside of my girls and friends that have been in contact with my girls … asking them to do a lice check just in case my girls has lice and gave it to their child involuntarily.
In other words one has to send the lice gossip further….
Apart from being a lice gossiper I also have to change our bed sheets, pillow cases, cushions, teddy bears or any other objects that kids were in contact with ….must I also do the guest bedroom too?
So now I just won the laundry jackpot .
Then the thought of purchasing that lice shampoo that cost an arm and a leg…..and not mention I need three of those…..
All I can say is goodbye to one week or two of brunching with my bestie at my favorite cafe!
So now the Mamma lice exterminator has business to sort out!
The worst part is that the last time I spent an entire Saturday performing my “lice hunting skill” like a crazy Mamma and the end product of locating a lice was zero percent and of course the girls were happy and by showing their appreciation I was serenaded with a “lice free dance performance”
Now the thought 💭 of repeating this procedure just makes me want to have a glass of my favorite white wine!

That is definitely a nightmare with long-haired kids! My daughters both have long thick hair – one with curls and one without – and it would be a huge mess at our house too. And that shampoo costs a fortune!

Because the shampoo are killing my pocket and the worst part is that .. the amount is very small so you have to end up buying more than one anyhow…

Yeah that’s the worst part – it’s expensive enough as it is, but having use multiple bottles makes it worse!

When I was a teacher we had this case for several months, and it was a craziness because even some teachers got them and it was funny

Yes I can imagine… before I moved my daughter from her nursery .. One of the Teacher told us to do a lice check because she found out that she has lice … and of Course I wasn’t Happy because again 3 heads, bedspread etc

I remember enduring the lice checks in elementary school, they would line us all up and you’d all end up knowing which unfortunate souls were stricken! Sounds like an awful lot of work for you, especially with girls blessed with such beautiful long hair!

Oh gosh I would hate being in a line up for lice…
At our daughter school the parent that found lice in their child’s hair always contact the other parents to check their kid hair.

I haven’t had to deal with lice yet, but I am dreading it. My daughter has pretty long curly hair and I know it is bound to happen. I heard that they aren’t as attracted to “dirty” hair so products and hair spray and not washing daily are ways to prevent it.

Truly this can be a nightmare for any mom.Still I dont have such problem with my kid,and I cant imagine how to spend time with cleaning etc.Anyway,this product /shampoo sounds so helpful…

Oh gosh! I REMEMBER LICE!!!!! I totally got it when I was younger too and I remember my mom flipping out over it because she didn’t know what to do ! hahahaha! I give you credit for checking all three of your daughter’s hair!! Good luck!

I have not had to deal with lice. When my son was a little, i remember one of his friend in the class had this problem. I was so scared.

Lice is awful! I haven’t had lice since I was in elementary school. Someone had gotten it and it spread, so a teacher had to check all of our heads and send the ones home that had it. Not fun!

Thisnis the funniest post I’ve read about hair lice, and its soo funny AF.
Well, hair lice is technically ain’t funny at all. I remember my own Mom who is also furious about these lice. For home remedy, you can use a vinegar and dilute soak the hair and scalp with it.. It kills lice and its eggs. And vinegar will give you an amazing shine after.

I had lice when I was in kindergarten. It was not a pleasant experience.
